Teaching is my way of effecting change in one’s
personhood in the smallest way I can. While teaching
with love and understanding, I challenging my students
to be kinder to themselves, those around them, and
take care of their own self preservation; or essentially
their heart and core of self love.
I was teaching before I ever knew it, from the tender age
of 12. I’ve always wanted to give back and teach the world the
things I’ve learned, and help avoid the rocks that hit me.
Learning was hard for me growing up, and so I create a
classroom filled with joy, and one that promotes growth for
each individual student. It’s a great passion of mine to be a
reading teacher, as well as leading early education musical
classes and theater to middle school. I’ve witness the profound
impact music can have on teaching children core skills, and
though I didn’t see myself on that path, it’s one that I would
never give back.
Being raised by teachers I should have seen it all coming, but being a teacher has been one of life’s surprise treasures, and once I embraced it, it’s forever brought purpose & fulfillment to my life. My hope for each student, is that in any hard place they go, they will remember to preserve and love themselves, and my goal as a teacher is to change the everyday imprint of the future generations, one stanza at a time.
